ITIL & Service Manager


ITIL is a set of Best Practice guidance for IT Service Management. ITIL is owned by the OGC and consists of publications giving guidance on the provision of Quality IT Services and on the processes and facilities needed to support them.

Microsoft System Center Service Manager is architected to be compliant to the ITIL Framework. Clients can accelerate the pace of their journey for ITIL compliance by adopting Service Manager. Service Manager also integrates with other Microsoft Technologies, such as Exchange, Lync, OCS, Active Directory and SharePoint to ensure a fully collaborative real time communication platform.

ITIL is the largest recognised professional IT Service Management framework, with in excess of 100,000 professionals certified in ITIL globally. ITIL is similar to ISO, SOX or CoBIT standards as a best practice framework.

The body who governs and manages the ITIL standard is the ITsmf. Cased Dimensions represented Microsoft and System Center Service Manager at the Global Annual conference of the ITsmf on the 5th-6th November 2012 in London. Pictures are at the bottom of this page.
