Founded in Ireland in 2010, Cased Dimensions has a rich history spanning a full decade of delivering software, consultancy, and IT Managed Services; we have a strong track record with government and commercial companies across the world. The business has its origins in building software that enables process automation – primarily in conjunction with Microsoft’s off-the-shelf suites of products, but increasingly interfacing with data and workflows in other application suites.

Over time, Cased Dimensions has expanded into IT Managed Services including running significant government environments since 2014. The company has people in the UK (including a customer service centre in Northern Ireland), Ireland, the Philippines, and the USA.

The Role

In March 2021 Cased Dimensions was awarded a contract for the delivery of a cloud managed service to run for a period of up to 5 years. We are currently in the implementation phase building MS Azure cloud solution. There will be a strong focus on delivering a proactive event management framework, self-service provisioning of compute and storage resources and automation / orchestration of activities where possible.

To prepare for the migration of applications to the cloud environment and to establish the ongoing management service we are looking for an experienced Managed Service Technical Engineer at Level 3 or equivalent .You will be responsible for the handover of service from deployment team ensuring a seamless transition to support, then establish and deliver a proactive hosting managed service, improving processes as the service matures. In addition to this, you will support the ongoing service migration project to the public cloud.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of the data centre and MS Azure environments including patching, backup management and proactive maintenance

  • Capacity, availability and performance management for application environments

  • Provisioning of VM and Azure environments

  • Building out a comprehensive Event Management framework including alert automation and remediation

  • Developing the service catalogue for hosting services e.g. resource provisioning

  • Identifying potential activities for orchestration and working with other teams to implement

  • Population of knowledge base with run books, operational procedures and how-to’s

  • Developing, supporting and mentoring other team members in technical and service operations best practice

  • Must be willing to support the client on an on-call rota basis 24x7x365

In addition to the above duties and responsibilities the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not of necessity change the general character or level of responsibility to the post.

Skills and qualities required:

  • Advanced configuration, troubleshooting and resolution across enterprise platform technologies including:

    • Private Cloud – VMware, Commvault or equivalent compute and storage technologies. Cisco data centre networking. Fortinet network security.

    • Public Cloud – Microsoft Azure including resource provisioning and management.

    • Microsoft ExpressRoute.

    • Backup – Veeam. Azure backup.

    • Discovery, Orchestration and Event Management.

    • Cloud management - Cloud resource and service provisioning.

    • Service Management – experience of working within Change and Release frameworks.

Skills and qualities desired:

  • Knowledge of public / private cloud architecture and design principles

Education/Qualifications in one or more of the following:

  • Microsoft, Citrix, Hyper-V, Commvault or other relevant certifications

  • A high level of self-motivation together with a willingness to learn new skills

  • A flexible and enthusiastic approach to the job

  • Good problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Can demonstrate exceptional levels of customer service and care

  • Good communication, organisation, and presentation skills

  • Strong time management and coordination skills

  • A full driving license - preferably clean, however consideration will be given to people with low number of point

Additional Information:

As this role requires access to a high level of confidential information security checks will be completed at induction.


Internal training on products and services will be provided. However, employees are expected to consistently keep abreast of new developments, which would impact on his/her areas of responsibility. Personal training in relation to job description will be given as part of the company’s overall personnel development program.

Conditions of Employment:

The salary and benefits for this position will be determined according to the experience of the person appointed.

General Guidance:

The nominal working week is 37.5 hours, although a degree of flexibility is both offered and expected. In specific circumstances there may be a requirement to work additional hours. Annual holidays are 21 days plus 8 statutory holidays. Cased Dimensions is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
